South Carolina Sister State Agreements

Coastal Carolina University offers study courses to students who participate in the International Sister State Agreement program. The public studies offer for eligible students applies to all our bachelor and master programs. Citizens of the following persons are entitled to residency courses (In-State) for the current academic year: students from these areas, admitted to all bachelor`s, master`s, doctoral and non-curricular programs, qualify for Resident Tuition. This benefit significantly reduces tuition fees, resulting in savings of approximately US$18,816 for students and approximately US$10,611 for Doctoral students. The benefit was established by the sister state agreement between the state of South Carolina and the countries/states listed above. The agreement is extended at will by the University of South Carolina. Applicants must be admitted to a program at the University of South Carolina and prove their citizenship with a passport. Tuition fees are valid for all years of study under a program. The Board of Trustees of Coastal Carolina University has authorized a limited number of non-resident tuition fees for students who have a scholarship and domicile in the special cooperation zones organized below, which allow students who have nationality and residence in the respective territories to obtain exemption from non-resident tuition fees, reducing their tuition fees at CoastalCarolina University to the national rate. Among the formal agreements is our relationship between the sister state and South Carolina, signed in 1999. However, many international PhD students fund their studies through postgraduate assistants, who may offer a salary, supplements, and resident (public) tuition.

Postgraduate assistants are part-time paid internships (10 to 20 hours per week) within the department; The benefits for these positions vary. Assistants are competitive; However, many PhD students are able to finance all or part of their training through assistance. After the start of studies, students can often find additional research means, scholarships and scholarships through their academic advisor and department. International students typically pay extra-government tuition per semester. However, some departments offer competitive scholarships. .
